A agência espacial norte-americana Nasa divulgou uma imagem nesta sexta-feira (31) de uma aurora no pólo norte de Saturno. O registro magnífico do telescópio espacial Hubble foi postado no Instagram.
"O Hubble permitiu que pesquisadores monitorassem o comportamento das auroras no polo norte de Saturno durante um longo período de tempo em 2017, a fim de criar essa imagem composta", diz a legenda da imagem.

Lightshow alert! Astronomers using our @NASAHubble Space Telescope spotted auroras, or dancing lights, on Saturn’s north pole region. In contrast to the auroras on Earth, Saturn’s auroras are most easily imaged and studied in ultraviolet using space telescopes. Hubble allowed researchers to monitor the behavior of the auroras at Saturn's north pole over an extended period of time back in 2017 in order to create this composite image. The Hubble observations were coordinated with the "Grand Finale" of the Cassini spacecraft, when the spacecraft simultaneously probed the auroral regions of Saturn.
